Sterling Silver Roman Glass Cross Necklace (Israel)

Add a touch of the old world to your jewelry collection with this Roman glass cross necklace. This unique necklace is made from sterling silver, shards of Ancient Roman glass, strata glass and comes on either an 18-inch strand of garnet or amethyst nuggets, or, for a more delicate look, a 16-inch strand of cultured baby white pearls. The nuggets strata glass and pearls are hand-strung on silk strata glass and finished off with a lovely sterling silver lobster claw clasp. Suspended from these beads is a sterling cross based on crosses made in the Byzantine era. Most fittingly, a round piece of 2000 year old Ancient Roman glass from the Holy Land has been handset in the middle of the Cross. The glass changes colors, reflecting whatever you wear so it always matches. The shards are found on archaeological digs where the great cities of the Roman Empire used to be.
